What’s the difference between Permanent Cosmetics and Microblading?

Permanent / Semi Permanent Cosmetics using a machine which will produce longer lasting results than microblading. The pigment is deposited in the dermal layer of the skin about the depth of a dime. It’s a very important factor to know exactly where you are placing the pigment so you retain those crisp hair stroke.

  • Permanent Cosmetics
  • Semi Permanent Cosmetics
  • Micro Pigmentation
  • Microblading

its all the same just worded differently, It’s permanent because it always lays in the skin, its semi permanent because it faded, microblading is with a manual tool where the other is with a machine!

Who Benefits from Permanent Cosmetics?

  • Ideal for those with busy, active lives.
  • People who want to enhance their eyebrows and prevent drooping or sparse eyebrows.
  • People who daily apply lip liner, eyeliner or brow pencil.
  • Those with sparse or non-existent brows due to over plucking, or suffer with alopecia.
  • Clients with poor eyesight or an unsteady hand.
  • Sporty clients who want to look great all the time and strive for smudge and smear free make-up.
  • Busy clients who just don’t have the time to apply intricate make-up.
  • Clients who seek to correct asymmetrical facial features.
  • Described as the best money they’ve ever spent.

What is involved?

Firstly a consultation is required before any permanent Cosmetics is carried out where together we choose the most suitable pigment colour and shape.

At your appointment, numbing cream is applied and the shape and colour is revaluated. Once we are both happy that the procedure can be carried out, the pigment is carefully implanted into the skin. Most procedures take 1.5 – 2 hrs and a second visit may be required after 6 weeks or within 3 months of the initial procedure.

The first 2 weeks after the procedure is called the colour stabilization period during which time the colour will appear darker and more sharply defined. In the first few days the epidermal (outer) layer heals and the colour will reduce by 30-50%. After the first 6 weeks the dermis (inner) and Epidermal (outer) layer is totally healed and this is when a top-up procedure can be determined

How long does it last?

You should consider it permanent, as the pigment will always remain in the upper section of the dermis, however over time the colour will fade as the skin rejuvenates. It is recommended that you have a colour boost every 12-18 months to keep the area looking fresh, but is dependent on your body chemistry and lifestyle

What can be achieved?

  • Small eyes can be made to look bigger.
  • Lashes appear thicker.
  • Eye colour can be emphasised.
  • Perfect shaped eyebrows giving the effect of an eyelift.
  • Lips can be made fuller and shape can be corrected.
  • Lips that have lost definition through the aging process can be re-defined.

Does it hurt?

A majority of clients fall asleep during the eyebrow procedure and even say the tweezing of stray eyebrows is more painful than the actual procedure. You may experience a small amount of redness and swelling around the treated area but this will normally subside around 12-24 hrs after the procedure.

Is it expensive?

It is very little compared with the years that this will last you and it doesn’t run, smudge, or wash off. The cost of the procedure should not be the most important factor when choosing a permanent make-up technician but the quality of work, aftercare and reputation

Eyebrow Enhancement

The brows are the most important feature of the face, giving shape and definition. Getting them designed correctly can give you the same effect as an eyelift. The eyebrow procedure can be applied to existing brows that are patchy, thin or not long enough, or brows which don’t exist due to ill health or over plucking. There are 2 procedures for the eyebrow area:

  1. 3D Hair Strokes which give the appearance of natural hair strokes.
  2. Powder Effect gives a soft haze of colour over the brows to shape and define.

Eye Enhancement

Eyelash Enhancement really opens the eye. The treatment is applied between the lashes making them appear thicker and longer and enhance the shape of the eye. Eyeliner is a more defined look and is applied above or below the lashes giving a more make-up look.

Lip Enhancement

There are 2 procedures for the lip area, lip liner and lip blush. Lip Liner gives definition to your natural lip line and can correct certain imperfections. Lip Blush is a gradual blend from the lip line and gives a natural blend, ideal for anyone with uneven lips and gives subtle, fuller, healthy glow.
